                                                         Statement on Ukraine

In cooperation with IFLA and the international library community, the JLA opposes violence and expresses solidarity with the people and colleagues from Ukraine.

One of the vital roles of libraries in our society is respecting people's lives, protecting freedom of expression and knowledge, thereby, contributing to peace, democracy and safeguarding our rich cultural heritage.

The JLA appeals to its member-libraries and librarians’ support to the citizens of Ukraine, and wishes for their country’s return to peaceful days.
